And now here is an alleged Russian woman who contacted me after seeing the profile that I don't have on any internet dating site who also assumes that I am a male. Here is the letter from yet another scammer:

Juliet Baby - Nigerian Scammer

Nigerian Scammers seem to love to use the word "Baby" for a last name. Here is the latest email from a Nigerian Scammer, this time the name is Juliet Baby. These idiots never stop, and their stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

Stephen Michaels - Nigerian Scammer

Here is an email from a reader that requested we post it here:
My name is Deborah, and three months ago I met a man claiming to live in England, Manchester and named Stephen Michaels. He was 52 years old, was a widower and owner of a shop "BELLA HOUSE OF FABRICS." I am a well-informed person, work hard, am a teacher and exchanged a few emails, and talk when meet the Internet. Turns out there five days he said he would go to Nigeria to work and then come to Brazil.


Yesterday he contacted me to say it was stolen, who pointed a gun at the head of his daughter, Anna, and took all their money. Argued that he should seek the British consulate, but in return "Stephen" told me that nothing could be done.



I began to suspect. In fact he called me a lot of attention is always asking about my son, today I wanted to know information to blackmail me. I need you to put this on the website so that other women do not fall in the coup. As I did not send any money threatened to kill my son, and even said that the FBI would come looking for me, because I promised to denounce, as I am doing now. Another mistake, if he is British should call to Scotland Yard. I'm going through the photos that the supposed "Stephen" and sent me these awful assemblies passports done over the Internet. David Cuthbertson - Nigerian Scammer

This letter was sent to us by a reader who wanted to warn others. Here is her email:
just signed up for Match.com and it didn't take long for this jerk to contact me! I am copying the emails he sent. Most of our communication was done through IM and he didn't answer most of my direct questions. There were some inconsistencies in his stories, which is when I decided to do a little Google-ing. We never got to the point where he asked me for money, which is pretty funny anyway because I am broke in a Big Way!

I will also attach the photos he sent. He claimed he bought the Bentley in the photo in England and went to Dubai to buy another car. His yahoo IM photo is of him in a white tee shirt standing in front of his Hummer. He likes four wheeling and riding dirt bikes; he works somehow with horses but was not specific; he plays video games; he will relocate to anywhere to be with the woman he loves. He said he has an eight year old son named Max. He asked (twice) if I kissed on the first date; he didn't ask much about my background or family. Unfortunately, I sent him photos which will probably be used to scam someone else.

He sent me his phone number but said he feels nervous because of his accent. First he told me his mom took him to Napoli, Italy for five years when he was seven years old because she wanted him to have an accent; today he said he was there for 20 years.

Patrick Lawrence, Nigerian Scammer - Victims Story

Here is a letter from our reader sent in to warn others about Patrick Lawrence, a Nigerian Scammer. here is the email:

Patrick claims his undying love for me and how we will be married when he returns to the States. He claims he is in Nigeria building homes on a $10 million contract. He even showed me the contract. He also claims he is from Germany where he was born and raised. He got his degree in B.S. Construction Science in Germany. His father died when he was 17 and his mother died recently so he moved from Germany to Dallas, Texas, where he claims to live at 10141 Daria Place, Dallas, Texas. I researched that address and found out that President George W. Bush lives there! His phone number is 234 812 219 7140. But each time he calls, the phone connection is bad and I am unable to talk to him. His email address is digingforlove23@yahoo.com. He asked me to take down my profile from match dot com because he didn’t want anyone to take me away from him. He claims he took his profile down as soon as he found me because I was the perfect woman for him. His IM’s on Yahoo messenger are full of “loving” words all about how I am the perfect one for him. He tells me his construction job will end in 3 weeks time and that he is going to fly to my place and surprise me and my family. He also IM’d my daughter in Spanish. He says he has his 10 year old son, David, with him in Nigeria and that David has a personal teacher. He shows me pictures of David. He asks me to use my webcam but claims he has to go out and buy one for himself (so I am not able to see him online). Below are excerpts of some of the conversations we have had:

“i can see so many thing's in you that make you so specal to me and know other man that see it but i do and that is why i fall madly in love with you”

“you gave me hope and i want to make sure we get together and i will be a suprise to you and your family”

“Oh....my love you alway's told me about your past and how much you get hurt,....that is why i want to suprise you and your family”

“i'll fly to your place and you will be the person to pick me at the airport”

“you are like a dream I never thought would ever come true for me. When I hear your voice I start to smile with glee. My eyes shine with glee when I know you are thinking of me”

“Honestly you are so special to me; I pray that we will finally know we are meant to be with one another. I haven't ever talked to anyone so like you before”

His spelling is always bad. I don’t have a photo to share because I was unable to download a good one from Yahoo messenger. But he claims to be 5’8” and about 180 lbs. The photo shows a white man with salt and pepper hair and the man in the photo is very good looking. His user name on match.com was something like “cryingforlove”. He also shows a photo of this man in a “Gruene Hall” t-shirt.

Scam Victims Story - Gerald Allen

A reader recently sent us their story dealing with a Nigerian scammer going by the name of Gerald Allen:
I live in Spain and was contacted August 2009 by a man who said that he was an American/Canadian following my dating advert in germansingles He told me that he was about 51 years old, divorced with an 11 year old daughter, that he was an freelance geologist after having worked as such for many years for Halleburton. At the time of the initial contact he said that he was in London tendering for a contract in Scotland and Norway. As he didn´t get these contracts he then, so he told me, obtained a contract in Nigeria solving an oil spillage. After about 6 weeks of chatting online via Messenger he became very affectionate and declared his love for me and that he wanted to meet me. After about 2 months of having regular online contact he told me that he had left his briefcase with his passport, all his money, credit cards etc. in a taxi travelling from the site and he then asked me to help him out financially which I did. This was followed by a variety of other sob stories which ended in my sending him more money. He sounded always very convincing and although I did have doubts unfortunately I always gave him the benefit of the doubt. I sent him money to leave Nigeria and he said that he was then in London. I tried to meet him in the U.K. 3 times whilst over there but each time something happened as to why he could not meet me. He continued chatting to me for over one year more via messenger. During that time I did not send him more money although from time to time I received more sob stories. Just recently I asked him to come to Spain and e-mailed a Ryanair boarding pass to him. (I had a copy of his "American passport" which was a fake). Needless to say he did not turn up. He told me that at the Ryanair Visa check desk he had been asked for a malaria vaccination certificate (He said that he contracted malaria whilst in Nigeria) which he said cost Pound Sterling 360.--. I checked this out with Ryanair and received confirmation from them in writing that this was not required. I challenged him on this and he eventually admitted that he was actually a Nigerian/South African with a mixed colour Nigerian father and a white South African mother. He asked my forgiveness and told me that he was ashamed of what he had done to me. All in all he conned me out of Euros 20,000.- which he said that he would repay bit by bit. He said that he had not spent all this money but invested it in shares. He also begged me not to report him to the police. He wanted to turn over a new leaf and make something of himself. I checked his "mother´s and daughter´s" e-mail out by sending a greeting card via 123greetings which were returned.

Since then he has admitted that he does not have any children and is single.

He told me that his present address in London is 23 Bethel Drive, Newham, London E138BN.

He admitted that the initial 2 photos he sent me were somebody else but the subsequent ones were him (the last 2 were not that different from the initial ones but his "American passport" photo was quite different. (I had asked him for a copy of his passport before sending him more money about 1 year ago getting him out of Nigeria by making up a bit of a story).

Another Day, Another Scam this time from Ghana

Watch out for a lady named Lawer Linda Mauwginuwua from Accra, Ghana. She promised me the world, broke my heart and took my money. Her photo is a 31 year old white woman who has blond hair and a voluptuous figure and smile. My guess is that the pirates in Ghana took her photo off the Internet and scammed me. I got several documents from her which appear to be fraudulent. She is extremely attractive and her messages were as sweet as they could be. She refuses to return emails now that she has my money. Please advise if there are any organizations that can help me recover my money and prosecute these pirates.

This was sent on 5/20/11. She attached the picture with her in shackles with it. That cost me $500 to allegedly get her out of jail. The transfer of gold ownership was what she said she needed. I was a sucker and it makes me sick to be conned like this.

footnote - She never did anything to try to come be with me. She told me she had bought a ticket from KLM airlines. When I called them, thy had no record of her buying a ticket. It appears that the lady in the pictures is not real. My bet is that these pirates picked the picture off the Internet and she is not aware of her picture being used in a scam. I doubt that she got a dime of my money and that makes it all the worse.

Russian Scammer from Mate1 Strikes Again

After 3 weeks of no contact from the Russian girl on Mate1, our reader received THIS email from her, asking for guess what??? MONEY! for her mothers HEART surgery?!?!?!?!

I write you this letter and crying. The matter is that I had an awful grief. My mum had 2 days ago a heart attack. I at all
do not know, why it has occurred. It seems to me, that I am guilty in it. The matter is that she very much worried about me, that I cannot
arrange the private life. Now my mum is in a critical condition. Surgery which costs approximately 10 thousand roubles is urgently
necessary to my mum. It is approximately 350 dollars. For me it not simply big, but the huge sum. At my salary in 2 000 roubles a month.
From me all my friends have turned away. For me the life has turned simply to a hell. I understand you  that you are surprised, why I
address to you. But I have nobody to address more. All my friends when this grief has happened to me, have turned away from me. Yes they
probably too can be understood. After all they too have no such big sum. My darling, I can rely only on
you, but more I have nobody to go. You know me more because everything, that I wrote to you about myself. Please, help me
if can. Perhaps someone from your friends can help me. I will necessarily return then money, but not at once. I ask you help me and

More Signs of a Scammer

First, they hardly EVER write your name. They just put in "Babe","Hun".. or their all time favorite "My Queen." This is because they are sending the same stuff they copy and pasted to you to 100 other women.
Second, they may not even sign THEIR name. Quite often they will sign the WRONG name.
Third, they have names that sound like two FIRST names. Paul William @blahblah.com
Is it William Paul? Or Paul William? They do this a lot so they can SWITCH names down the line. For 6 weeks they may use Paul as their first name, and then switch to William as their first name.
Fourth, recieving money requests from hospitals or doctors. No hospital or Doctor is going to send you an email asking for money. Quick way to verify? Call the US embassy. Let them help you, like they should be helping the idiot asking you for money.
Fifth, underlined words in their emails. If you see dashes under words in an email sent to you, those dashes are there because when you cut and paste, errors get underlined in various ways.
That is one key to spotting a cut and pasted letter.
Sixth, weird backgrounds in certain emails, like pink with lip imprints, etc. The reason for this is when they cut and pasted off a site, the background from the site came too.

Signs You May Be Talking To A Nigerian Scammer

Now that we decided to toy with scammers in an effort to keep them busy (and hopefully away from victims) we have noticed some signs right away that we have a Nigerian scammer on the hook. Here are some of the signs that you may be talking, chatting or emailing a Nigerian scammer:

1. Their first email to you (or maybe the second) gives you their yahoo id (even though you didn't ask for it) and they want to chat offsite with yahoo im.

2. They supply their phone number almost immediately and want yours (of course it is not a us or uk number)

3. If they have a child, they have an only child. They say they have custody of their child and the kid travels with them to foreign countries. Forget about school and freinds for the kid.... who the hell babysits this kid by the way?

4. They may start out living in the United States but wind up working overseas perhaps in the UK, Italy, whatever but then after THAT job, they get their next job in....guess where.... Africa. Big shock, right?

5. The sob story is they are either a widow whose wife died in a car accident, during childbirth, or left him for his best friend. These are the three most popular right now.

6. They are looking for a woman (man) who will be a mother (father) for their child. RIGHT AWAY. They let you know they told the kid about you and the kid is THRILLED and calls you Mom or Dad right away. When/if the kid writes you they will change the font color. (How stupid)

7. The say they grew up in the states, BUT don't use our vernacular. They say they went to the cinema. We in the U.S.A. say we went to the movies. They say they need "food stuffs". In America, we simply say "food". Their spelling is horrible and grammar is just as bad. They love to use "cos" for because.

8. They often say they are new to the site and you are the first person they are writing to -- go check, they have been on for a while, and have friends.

9. They profess love REALLY quickly. Within a few emails they KNOW you are the right one for them and want to spend the rest of their lives with you. Yeah, ok.

10. They tell you they live in California or New York or wherever, but know NOTHING about it. They don't know the area, stores, streets, etc. These are just some of the signs we have observed so far and will post more soon.

9. They bought a one way ticket to a foreign country. Huh? They may say it is because they didn't know when the job would be finished? Pay the extra 50 bucks to change the dates, rather than the high rate of a one way ticket that of course they won't have the money for when the job is over, because they will either be robbed (lie) or have a check they can't cash (lie).

10. Can't cash a check in a foreign country. Really? Why the hell not? Go to the bank that issued the check, and cash it there. You don't have to have an account, just the person who WROTE THE CHECK does. So, what's the problem? Oh, that's right, there ISN'T a check anyway, this is all part of the scam.

11. Accents : You may think he/she disn't SOUND Nigerian. Would you know what a Nigerian sounds like? No. You most likely DON'T. The big question is why does someone BORN in America (like they claim) that lived in America (like they claim) have an accent that is NOT American?

Soldier Scam on Tagged.com

A reader alerted us to a scammer she met on tagged.com, who calls himself Christopher Phillips. Christopher Phillips claims to be a soldier in Afghanistan and needed her to pay to get him deployed early so he can come back to the states. She called him on his scam and thank goodness didn't send him the money. His email address is crichardphillips@yahoo.com
She sent an email to the email address he gave her to send the money to with nothing in the subject and nothing in the body of the email. She received an email back from a supposed government agency asking her if she wanted to send money for the soldier. Wow, wonder how they knew? (Of course it is because it's the scammers email address, not the us governments!)
