I got this yet again from a Nigerian scammer. I am not on a internet dating site, have no profiles anywhere, and they assume I am a male. Of course they said they saw my profile on a internet dating site and how handsome I am. (Yeah, ok)
My dearest, I am writing this mail to you with tears and sorrow from my heart. With due respect , trust and humanity, i appeal to you to exercise a little patience and read through my letter i feel quite safe dealing with you in this important business having gone through your remarkable profile, honestly i am writing this email to you with pains, tears and sorrow from my heart, i will really like to have a good relationship with you and i have a special reason why i decided to contact you. I decided to contact you due to the urgency of my situation. My name is Miss.blessing Kones, 27yrs old female and i am from Kenya in East Africa. Light in complexion, single( never married )but presently i am residing here in Dakar Senegal refugee camp. My father Late Dr Kipkalya Kones was the former Kenyan road Minister. He and Assistant Minister of Home Affairs Lorna Laboso had been on board the Cessna 210, which was headed to Kericho and crashed in a remote area called Kajong'a, in western Kenya. The plane crashed on the Tuesday 10th, June,2008. After the burial of my father, my stepmother and uncle conspired and sold my father's property to an italian Expertrate which they shared the money among themselves and live nothing for me. One faithful morning, I opened my father's briefcase and found out the documents which he have deposited huge amount of money in one bank in Scotland with my name as the next of kin because when he was alive he deposited some amount of money in a leading bank in Europe which he used my name as the next of kin. The amount in question is $3.8M(Three Million eight Hundred Thousand Dollars). I have informed the bank about claiming this money and the only thing they told me is to look for a foreign partner who will assist me in the transfer due to my refugee status here in Senegal. They also told me that my late father's instuction to the bank is that the money would only be release to me when I am married or present a trustee who will help me and invest the money overseas. I am in search of an honest and reliable person who will help me and stand as my trustee so that I will present him to the Bank for transfer of the money to his bank account overseas. I have chosen to contact you after my prayers and I believe that you will not betray my trust. But rather take me as your own sister or we can get married immediately i come to your country. My dearest, thing are very bad for me here in the refugee camp where i am living today. People are dying here day after day because of lack of food and poor medical treatment. Even one of us died last night and was buried today. I am afraid of what i am seeing here. I don't know who it will be her turn tomorrow. I was first year student in the university studying law before the ugly incident that killed my parents that put me in this horrible place i found myself toady. This place is like a prison as we are only allowed to go out on Monday and Friday of the week as given by the united nation rules and regulation here in Senegal. It's just like one staying in the prison and i hope by Gods grace i will come out here soon. n this refugee we are only allowed to go out two times in a week. Its just like one staying in the prison and i hope by Gods grace i will come out here soon. i don't have any relatives now whom i can go to and the only person i have now is Rev Chris Johnson who is the pastor of the (Christ for all Churches) here in the refugee he has been very nice to me since i came here but i am not living with him rather i am leaving in the women's hostel because the refugee have two hostels one for men the other for women. Please i want you to call me with our Pastors Tel number(00221-768-783-107) if you call, tell him that you want to speak with me he will send for me in the hostel to come and aswer your call. As a refugee here i don't have any right or privilledge to any thing be it money or whatever because it is against the law of this country. I want to go back to my studies because i only attended my first year before the traggic incident that lead to my being in this situation now took place Though you may wonder why I am so soon revealing myself to you without knowing you, well I will say that my mind convinc ed me that you may be the true person to help me. Moreso, I will like to disclose much to you if you can help me to relocate to your country because my stepmother have threaten to assinate me and that is why I stop my studies and run away before I finally find myself in the united nations camp here in Senegal where iam living now. You will also help me to place the money in a more profitable business venture in your Country. However, you will help by recommending a nice University in your country so that I can complete my studies. It is my intention to compensate you with 20% of the total money for your services and the balance shall be my capital in your establishment. As soon as I receive your positive response showing your interest I will put things into action immediately. In the light of the above. I shall appreciate an urgent message indicating your ability and willingness to handle this transaction sincerely. AWAITING YOUR URGENT AND POSITIVE RESPONSE . Please do keep this only to your self for now untill the bank will transfer the fund. I beg you not to disclose it till i come over because I am afraid of my wicked stepmother who has threatened to kill me and have the money alone ,I thank God Today that am out from my country (KENYA) but now In (Senega Refugee Camp)i thank God for the life of Rev as he has been helpful to me since i became close to him after his visitation to the clinic when i was sick in the camp. Patrick Lawrence, Nigerian Scammer - Victims Story

Here is a letter from our reader sent in to warn others about Patrick Lawrence, a Nigerian Scammer. here is the email:

Patrick claims his undying love for me and how we will be married when he returns to the States. He claims he is in Nigeria building homes on a $10 million contract. He even showed me the contract. He also claims he is from Germany where he was born and raised. He got his degree in B.S. Construction Science in Germany. His father died when he was 17 and his mother died recently so he moved from Germany to Dallas, Texas, where he claims to live at 10141 Daria Place, Dallas, Texas. I researched that address and found out that President George W. Bush lives there! His phone number is 234 812 219 7140. But each time he calls, the phone connection is bad and I am unable to talk to him. His email address is digingforlove23@yahoo.com. He asked me to take down my profile from match dot com because he didn’t want anyone to take me away from him. He claims he took his profile down as soon as he found me because I was the perfect woman for him. His IM’s on Yahoo messenger are full of “loving” words all about how I am the perfect one for him. He tells me his construction job will end in 3 weeks time and that he is going to fly to my place and surprise me and my family. He also IM’d my daughter in Spanish. He says he has his 10 year old son, David, with him in Nigeria and that David has a personal teacher. He shows me pictures of David. He asks me to use my webcam but claims he has to go out and buy one for himself (so I am not able to see him online). Below are excerpts of some of the conversations we have had:

“you gave me hope and i want to make sure we get together and i will be a suprise to you and your family”

“Oh....my love you alway's told me about your past and how much you get hurt,....that is why i want to suprise you and your family”

“i'll fly to your place and you will be the person to pick me at the airport”

“you are like a dream I never thought would ever come true for me. When I hear your voice I start to smile with glee. My eyes shine with glee when I know you are thinking of me”

“Honestly you are so special to me; I pray that we will finally know we are meant to be with one another. I haven't ever talked to anyone so like you before”

His spelling is always bad. I don’t have a photo to share because I was unable to download a good one from Yahoo messenger. But he claims to be 5’8” and about 180 lbs. The photo shows a white man with salt and pepper hair and the man in the photo is very good looking. His user name on match.com was something like “cryingforlove”. He also shows a photo of this man in a “Gruene Hall” t-shirt.

Grace John is a Nigerian Scammer

I just got an email from a Nigerian scammer who says they "found" me profile on a dating site. I have no profiles on any internet dating sites, and they think I am a male, and I am actually a female. Here is the letter and fake photo.

I am more than happy in your urgent reply to my mail.How was your day?.
mine was cool over here in Daker Senegal.
My name is grace john am from libaria in west Africa and
presently i am residing in the refugee camp here in dakar as a result of
the civil war going on in my country.My late father Dr john was the
personal advicer to the former head of state before the rebels attacked my
house one early morning killing my mother and my father. It was only me that
is alive now and i managed to make my way to near by country Senegal where i
am leaving now. I would like to know more about you. Your likes and
dislikes,your hobbies and what you are doing presently.I will tell more
about myself in my next mail.

Scam Victims Story - Gerald Allen

A reader recently sent us their story dealing with a Nigerian scammer going by the name of Gerald Allen:
I live in Spain and was contacted August 2009 by a man who said that he was an American/Canadian following my dating advert in germansingles He told me that he was about 51 years old, divorced with an 11 year old daughter, that he was an freelance geologist after having worked as such for many years for Halleburton. At the time of the initial contact he said that he was in London tendering for a contract in Scotland and Norway. As he didn´t get these contracts he then, so he told me, obtained a contract in Nigeria solving an oil spillage. After about 6 weeks of chatting online via Messenger he became very affectionate and declared his love for me and that he wanted to meet me. After about 2 months of having regular online contact he told me that he had left his briefcase with his passport, all his money, credit cards etc. in a taxi travelling from the site and he then asked me to help him out financially which I did. This was followed by a variety of other sob stories which ended in my sending him more money. He sounded always very convincing and although I did have doubts unfortunately I always gave him the benefit of the doubt. I sent him money to leave Nigeria and he said that he was then in London. I tried to meet him in the U.K. 3 times whilst over there but each time something happened as to why he could not meet me. He continued chatting to me for over one year more via messenger. During that time I did not send him more money although from time to time I received more sob stories. Just recently I asked him to come to Spain and e-mailed a Ryanair boarding pass to him. (I had a copy of his "American passport" which was a fake). Needless to say he did not turn up. He told me that at the Ryanair Visa check desk he had been asked for a malaria vaccination certificate (He said that he contracted malaria whilst in Nigeria) which he said cost Pound Sterling 360.--. I checked this out with Ryanair and received confirmation from them in writing that this was not required. I challenged him on this and he eventually admitted that he was actually a Nigerian/South African with a mixed colour Nigerian father and a white South African mother. He asked my forgiveness and told me that he was ashamed of what he had done to me. All in all he conned me out of Euros 20,000.- which he said that he would repay bit by bit. He said that he had not spent all this money but invested it in shares. He also begged me not to report him to the police. He wanted to turn over a new leaf and make something of himself. I checked his "mother´s and daughter´s" e-mail out by sending a greeting card via 123greetings which were returned.

Since then he has admitted that he does not have any children and is single.

He told me that his present address in London is 23 Bethel Drive, Newham, London E138BN.

He admitted that the initial 2 photos he sent me were somebody else but the subsequent ones were him (the last 2 were not that different from the initial ones but his "American passport" photo was quite different. (I had asked him for a copy of his passport before sending him more money about 1 year ago getting him out of Nigeria by making up a bit of a story).

Gerald Allens' "Doctors Note" - Nigerian Scam

Here is an email from a "Doctor" (that would never send an email) in the UK (where they have free health care by the way) asking for money (and is not in the billing department). Typical Nigerian scammer email

I am writing this mail on behalf of a patient of mine Mr.Gerald Allen who told me you happen to be his wife and hence you are priviledged to this information.Your husband Mr.Gerald was involved in a ghasty car accident on friday in a taxi cab on his way to the airport from Benin to lagos,he was rushed to our clinic in a state of coma,he suffered multiple wounds,internal bleeding and an open wound fracture to his right femur.I and the team of doctors on duty were able to stabilise him and eventually get him out of coma.We had to do everything within our powers to save his life since he was a foreigner and had to go against the hospital policy of treating him even without having someone to stand in for him or having someone to pay for the treatment.Well the next phase of his treatment is to perform surgery for his fractured femur and madam,am sorry to say that we can no longer continue any further treatment on Mr.Gerald unless some deposits are made and the amount for the surgical operation is 6000 euros.I hope that you now understand the situation on ground and perhaps act accordingly,do feel free to write back on any detail that is not clear to you and I will surely explain further on it,do take care and do have a wonderful day ahead,

Ben Ford - Nigerian Scammer

We received the following email from a reader who recognized a con artist/scammer before it could go any further. She found the photos he was using of himself on an online Italian magazine story. This is what our reader wrote:
He was instant messaging (IM), he asked for my email saying he was having issues with his IM at the dating site (which duh I gave, not sure if he can do anything with it). He kept asking the same question... what did I consider romantic? what did I think of the dating site? "how beautiful I was" messages were mostly questions, asking for my full name, where I lived, what type of work I did, and their stories are always the same: they are single dads, living with a child they adore at home, and they think "I" am so perfect... I started asking him questions about exact location where he lived, his favorite restaurant in the area, and he kept ignoring, and asking the question back at me. Then I made up the name "blue room" said it was my favorite place and asked him if he liked it, he said he loved it, I click disconnect, and therefore did not continue for him to ask for money, but I am pretty sure if I continue the communication game, he will. If that helps get them off the crook biz of taking advantage of women, I'll do it
