Here is a letter from a reader to warn you about Devon James, another Nigerian scammer.
Here is the email:

Hi I was on a dating sight and just by chance I said to this guy you should change your profile picture as the first one wasn’t as nice, this is how it all started. He was had me fall in love with him from the start. I have reported this to the sight as he had to pay by credit card but I know they will not give me this information. He said he was an "I work as an freelance auto technician,i do consulting,managerial,supervision and contract jobs for auto companies who requires my services,i am pretty much fulfilled in my job and i enjoy what i do. “

There are so many emails and messages to go through of the love he had for me and I saved him and I was his world, and I had fallen for it all... this is just some of it. What a night mare I am glad it’s over. I have lost my money but I still have my kids and health, it’s hard moving on but you know you just have to check it off as a hard lesson learned.

I am from the United States of America and I work with the United States Army as a Mechanical Engineer.
I have a daughter, she is 11 years old and her name is Sasha. Her mother is dead, her mother was my first wife but she died of cancer then I married again, an Indonesian. Well, we divorced because she was having an affair with another man. I am very ready to have a serious relationship with you and I think your english will be more better if we can chat rather than sending mails.

It has not been easy for me, but I have been able to continue living believing that someday I will meet the right woman for my future. Honey, during the course of my job as department manager for our engineering sector I with the Military chief accounting officer made an over inflated procurement cost which estimate to the total of $1,200,000.00 in $100 dollar bills. This fund was kept in a Locker deposited with United Nations Vault Office as Personal Effects. Our intention was on our retirement we should invest in purchase of Precious stones, diamonds and Gold or any lucrative business we might choose. However to protect our job and avoid any problem from our Government we registered that the (Fund) locker belongs to our foreign business partner and that when required it should be delivered overseas.

We received a letter from the United Nations vault asking we remove our locker deposit because it has been taking longer than we have stated...

we agreed it will be kept in their custody for six months and this is almost a year with them and the director of the Vault informed my partner that he is being transferred to another country and might be a risky thing for us to still leave it there

My Partner is a soldier and is not allowed to have such amount in his account neither do I as we both work for the US Government and most time our account are being monitored so I thought it will be better we transferred the funds outside the United States

right now am just think on what to do

A reader sent us this email to warn those of you in Colorado and Washington State:
My daughter (40) decided to try internet dating for the first time. She went on a well-respected site, posted a profile and was immediately contacted by what appeared to be a nice, responsible, all around good guy. He is foreign (German) and claims he has difficulty with English but trying to learn the language ( the reason I'm using present tense I will explain later). Recently divorced, three jobs, ranch in Colorado, loves horses (her line of work). Then he proceeded to tell her stories of heroic acts that he recently performed. "Saving a US Marine family lost in the wilderness inspite of falling with his horse, killing the horse and severely injuring himself. He still managed to drag himself and rescue the whole family", just one of many. Because of all his heroic actions, he was made an honorary US Marine. She bought all his stories, he had such an unpresumptuous way of telling them. War Hero, everybody loves him, etc. etc. etc. Within days he told her he loved her (even though they hadn't even met) and wanted to meet as soon as possible. One week later he showed up on her doorstep, using his advanced computer skills to get her address and phone #. For just a split second when she went to greet him the first timeshe describes a weird look in his eyes (she described it as insanity) then it was gone. He moved right in on her, convincing her he couldn't live without her now that he had found her. Slowly she began finding little inconsistencies in his stories, his behavior became abusive, especially if questioned about anything. He began showing cruelty to her pets, everything on the red flag list. He threatens suicide or threatens to kill her on a regular basis when she has tried to leave . He has ruined her business, ran off any friends (most are afraid of him). She is now in hiding, waiting for legal actions to be taken against him. Hopefully he will soon be deported so that she can once again walk in the daylight without fear that he will harm her or her loved ones. It will take years for her to repair the damage he accomplished in 8 short months. This story is current and as yet unfinished, he's still there in the shadows until he is caught and charged for his crimes. He is once again trawling the internet for another victim to "save" him. The purpose of this is to warn others out there to be very careful, there is a monster hiding behind the screen waiting for you to give him the opportunity to harm you. A general discription; frequents Military and Equestrian dating sights, German (not US citizen), heavy accent, poor english. Middle 40's, medium build, 5' 8"-6', reddish hair (always severe military cut), ruddy complexion, blue-grey eyes, wears glasses, tattoos, hangs out at Starbucks, chain smoke's little cigars, spends most of his time on computers (extremely skilled, tech savy,hacks for fun), like's anything military (very interested in guns), military imposter w/uniforms and war stories just one of several costumes, cowboy, Search & Rescue. Has victims in Colorado and Washington State.

Here is an email sent in by a reader to warn all of you about a Nigerian scammer going by the name Gary Moore:
Hi!

I was once a victim of internet scam.

I recieved a message asking me to add him in FB last sept.2011. He claimed that my name pops up when he does searching. He claimed to be an American man from Long Beach , Ca., the photo used was of a man whom any woman will gonna fall for and that was happened to me. I was at my vulnerable moments when i saw his message. He even call me thru a US number (+13234120103), he is a good player...after 3 weeks he said he will be going to UK to do business. He claimed that he is an Engineer, a contractor for oilwell, head installation and repair, and claimed to be connected to exxon mobil. He even called when he is in UK(called me with this number: +447045720405), the business failed in Uk so he needs to go to Nigeria, because the products for oil matters are cheaper there......... so many lies which was played well in short he has been asking for help as his credit card not working in warri, delta state, then stolen, i was unsuspecting that he is a scammer because he sounds seems to be real, not only me but even my aunt was also scammed.. because we just want to help a person in need.. i started to noticed that something was wrong when he has been asking me money every 3 weeks, until the time when he said he needs to get back to US soon but he does not have ticket as he only bought one way, i shared the story to my aunt who is very kind, her heart went out with him and tried to wire 15oo USD thru Western Union and her SSN where asked , she gone through a lot of trouble, until an anonymous person from western Union with Nigerian accent called her that trnsfer was cancelled and she has to get back the money anytime no charge and was informed that we might be dealing with a scammer.. thats the start. He didn't recive the money, was so upset i referred him to US embassy in Abuja, He sounds real when he told me that they got him a ticket. sends me a copy as well, but on his transit in UK he was picked up due to tax matters. He has many mishaps, What a very unfortunate person , seems so real... that the time i started reading the advisory from US embassy, I even wrote to the US mission embassy in Abuja , there i realized that he is not real. I searched online according to the pages he wrote in his profile and i found him in one date using profile name luv3333. The photo he used is very attractive, so handsome but he is not real.... I thank your team for giving these info, though i was left with debt and broken heart, Im doing my best to move on, and share my story. I hope it could save others and make them aware that scammers are good players.

I recieved this email from a reader regarding a scammer named Christian (Chris) Adams. here is the email and details:

Hi, I have recently found your site & was blown away by the things men have said in their emails. Also the names they call you like queen & angel...this sounds so much like the man I have been chatting with online since 2nd July 2011.

He claims he was born in Deer Park Vic Australia, but lived most of his life in Rockhampton QLD Australia. Australian born Mother from Perth WA & father Italian, both deceased & has a son 21yrs old, but does not live with him, divorced. First he contacted me on Plenty Of Fish Australia & then moved quickly to Yahoo Mail then IM. (his profile was removed after he contacted me) He was on Facebook & has several photos, I have copies but the profile has been removed now. Claims he is in love & has a long story...he was hospitalized in California with Type 2 diabetes... but many complications. (By the way this has been going on for months) Being sick in different hospitals, had to have an operation and even though I was Never asked for money...the hints were there. Had a bad habit of disappearing for nearly 2 weeks at a time. Unreachable! Said he was unable to contact me because he was in the hospital & Lost his mobile somewhere & no money to call me.

He said that he was in California on business (was bidding on a contract for construction machinery) & had been living in the UK where he has a property up for sale! (cannot get the money for the sale of his property until March 2012) Gave me a phone number in California 001114158529860. I have only ever managed once to get through to him & he had a very strong accent...Not Italian. Then a man called dickson_idahosa@yahoo.com was trying to contact me on IM. I had blocked him as I did not know who he was. Then I got an email said he had been trying to contact me in regards to Chris. He was back in another hospital & if I knew any of his friends or relatives here in Australia...as he needed help to get back home and he had huge bills there in the states. Dickson had a sister Carmen Bodie & asked if I could send money in her name (Western union) I did send $200 STUPID ME...as I believed he was very ill.

Then nothing again for 13 days & I checked his facebook page & he had pics on there that he was in Kuala Lumpur. STORY IS: The USA Doctors would not treat him anymore because he owes money & cannot pay, So was taken by a Doctor Carroll Godemen back to Kuala Lumpur to his own hospital there, as he agreed to help him get back on his feet. (but he is holding his passport until all the bills are paid back in the states) So apparently he is living in the Drs private quarters. He is desperately trying to get back to Australia & needs help! I would like to know if others know of this man or recognize his photos?

My name is Miss Rose Dosi and i am 24 years, single and never been married, i am from Sudan in Africa but presently residing in the missionary church here in Senegal where i ran as a refuge due to the political civil war that took place in my country. I am in sufferings and pains here in this camp, i really need help from someone by encouraging me and good advice in life and to help me to come out from this situation, again to help me get my money, because my late father deposited some amount of money for me in the Bank and he used my name as the next of kin.

My late father Dr. Ellison Dosi, worked as the Chief Executive Officer of (E E C PLC) in Port Sudan in Sudan. During the war, the rebel loyal to one of the greedy business associate of my late father attacked our house one early morning and killed my mother and father in a cold blood. It is only me that is alive now as the only child of my parents and i managed to make my way to this country Senegal by the help of UN army where i am living now in the missionary, headed by a Reverend Father, i used his office computer to send you this email and i only enter his office when he is less busy in his office.

Regarding my condition here as a refugee, i don't have any right or privilege to anything be it money or whatever because it is contrary to the law of this country.

Honey i really believe in face to face, i like to meet you in your country but there is know way i will be coming to your country now, i need to have my (International passport) before i can be coming to your country.

However, the bank manager advised me to get in touch with a very responsible person who will stand on my behalf as a foreign partner/trustee over the transfer since l am presently of refugee status over here and wouldn't be permitted to handle this amount of money, they also let me know about the bonds which they signed with my father that the money will be handled to me in bulk amount which means that l should decide on if i should continue with the bank or not.

Meanwhile,i will give you the personal contact address of the bank Manager so that you will contact the bank Manager direct for his direction and guidance concerning the transfer in my next mail.

I just have to let you know about this so that you can assist me to be my trustee on this money, like l have said, l want you to call me because l have allot to tell you. l kept this secret away from people in the Missionary here, the only person that knows about it is the Reverend Father Jude Williams because he is like a father to me.

I work my own hours and very flexible and hard working. My job mainly involves working with clients handling agencies now. I would also say i am someone who is bright, positive, understanding, kind, caring, grounded with a nice smile, good listener, affectionate and wonderful companion, I also don't look my age as i have been told. I grew up almost everywhere because my father served in the army and also lived in Ireland for some years, also in 4 different cities,3 before i got married and finally settled down in Adelaide after my wife died. I have daughter, who's 27yrs old, born deaf.. but she had a very good education, in fact she went to normal high school and everything. She teaches sign language part-time now at a local school around, we're planning on enrolling her into college to get her teaching degree and start her own life properly. Oh, I've mention she's deaf, was born that way and she is the apple of my eyes, all my life is for her and to make sure she has a very easy and wonderful life. We are also checking for hearing aids/plugs, she should be be able to qualify for an implant in a couple of weeks. I was married for 26yrs and it was a very pleasant, bumpy, loving and most of all i am proud to say blissful marriage and i still miss her very much. My late wife had Breast Cancer,stage 3 but she died in a Car Crash, she was the victim. She used to be a teacher too and also a principal, also i have been widowed for 6yrs now. Wow! I really have said a lot about my life, i usually don't talk or write this much about myself to anyone. I am hoping you are someone who is growth oriented,trust worthy and sincere, personal, anyway, that's it about what i do and me. Here is a letter from a reader who met a Nigerian scammer on Match.com. Here is the story and the scammer's info so you can all avoid him like the plague:

Here is how he started with me back on November 12 2011...He claimed to be an Architect living in San Francisco making a trip to work on a 5 Star Hotel In Benin. He said he couldnt get at his funds yet, and asked that I send him $200 Western Union to a man he said was a business partner named Henry Morgan in Nigeria.

He always had a reason that he couldnt fly back to San Francisco, and he always had some reason he needed me to send more money promising to pay me back more then I ever sent him.

Once this hotel remodel was finished he said he also had an import export business dealing oil, and he would have to stay over there even longer. Beggged me to send more money. He gave my cell number to another partner Greg Richardson. He was terribly rude and I would yell at him on the phone and get him all worked up. He ended up calling Michael and I both liars and stopped calling and texting me after I threatened to change my cell number. Just a team of horrible people working the Match dot com website.

I have phoned Match and sent complaints about this idiot.

He always sends sappy love letter emails. He like to send music videos of his favorite band Westlife, the song

Flying Without Wings, He is sometimes really hard to understand on the phone because of his thick accent which he claims is French, I bet it is Nigerian now that I know better. I told him he lacked verbal skills and not to call me because he is too hard to understand.

I was reading several stories about these internet scammers, so I decided to share my experience. I met "Peter Anderson" in match.com id Robert4realwoman from 415 NE 3rd St McMinnville, OR 97128, when I googled the address I was giving a building address and he insisted that it was his home address. That he was a well known Engineer living with his 24 yrs old son Albert and his dog Rambo. His father passed away 22 yrs ago and left him the construction family business, his mom supposely lives in Hawaii. After a week of emails we exchanged our IM in yahoo and communicated for three weeks, then we exchanged our phone numbers and started texting and he investigated my information and got my address and send me flowers and chocolate to my house, I couldn't believe it! Suddenly he had to travel to NJ for a business meeting, that same evening he texted me to let me know that the meeting went very well, that he was offered to go to finish a construction work in AFRICA for 9 wks only and will retire. That before going to Africa he was going to spend Christmas with his mother in Hawaii and then come and visit me. Well what happen? when he got to Hawaii he text me that his mom was sick and was going to take her to the hospital. So one night I googled images of German Sherperd and I found the same picture he has sent me and this what I emailed him:

He was 52 years old, was a widower and owner of a shop "BELLA HOUSE OF FABRICS." I am a well-informed person, work hard, am a teacher and exchanged a few emails, and talk when meet the Internet. Turns out there five days he said he would go to Nigeria to work and then come to Brazil.

Yesterday he contacted me to say it was stolen, who pointed a gun at the head of his daughter, Anna, and took all their money. Argued that he should seek the British consulate, but in return "Stephen" told me that nothing could be done.

I began to suspect. In fact he called me a lot of attention is always asking about my son, today I wanted to know information to blackmail me. I need you to put this on the website so that other women do not fall in the coup. As I did not send any money threatened to kill my son, and even said that the FBI would come looking for me, because I promised to denounce, as I am doing now. Another mistake, if he is British should call to Scotland Yard. I'm going through the photos that the supposed "Stephen" and sent me these awful assemblies passports done over the Internet. Thanks to a friend warning me about Nigerian Scammers (he had nearly been a victim himself) he put me onto your website. It wasnt long before I had my own taste of the scammer's art. Fortunately, as I was forewarned by your site, I knew what to look for and find it amazing that they rarely change their M.O. As soon as he mentioned Nigeria I was on guard. He supposedly spent 5 years at College??? and was born and raised in the USA (his use of the language doesnt say much for a college education), losing the parents, wife and goodness knows who else and raising the child on his own blah blah. He also never answered any questions I put to him but continued to pepper me with questions.

At first I was confused, didn't really know what I wanted, I didn't know if I would want to take a chance again and actually take you seriously. So, I decided to come close to you as a friend and find out who you truly were and what you were like. You seemed cool, nice and funny some things I really liked in a woman. I sent the following email almost immediately:

I'm surprised it took you so long to get around to this. Nigerian scammers are well known in Australia my dear and unfortunately for you the game is up. I have reported your name and email address to a site that warns other unsuspecting women of your fake emails. Don't contact me again and shame on you.

I hope you will be able to add him to your hall of shame and warn others. I've added a photo that he sent me. He was on Be2 and immediately withdrew his profile as soon as he made contact with me. I was fortunate that my heart and funds were left unscathed but my heart goes out to the men and women who have been hurt and left broke by these creeps. This letter was sent to us by a reader who wanted to warn others. Here is her email:
just signed up for Match.com and it didn't take long for this jerk to contact me! I am copying the emails he sent. Most of our communication was done through IM and he didn't answer most of my direct questions. There were some inconsistencies in his stories, which is when I decided to do a little Google-ing. We never got to the point where he asked me for money, which is pretty funny anyway because I am broke in a Big Way!

I will also attach the photos he sent. He claimed he bought the Bentley in the photo in England and went to Dubai to buy another car. His yahoo IM photo is of him in a white tee shirt standing in front of his Hummer. He likes four wheeling and riding dirt bikes; he works somehow with horses but was not specific; he plays video games; he will relocate to anywhere to be with the woman he loves. He said he has an eight year old son named Max. He asked (twice) if I kissed on the first date; he didn't ask much about my background or family. Unfortunately, I sent him photos which will probably be used to scam someone else.

He sent me his phone number but said he feels nervous because of his accent. First he told me his mom took him to Napoli, Italy for five years when he was seven years old because she wanted him to have an accent; today he said he was there for 20 years.

Here is an email sent in by a reader stating her experience with a Nigerian scammer going by the name "Marston Charles". Here is the email:

I have just found out I was targeted by Nigerian scam artists.

I met "Marston Charles" on b2b dating site. We exchanged emails over a 3 week period. Although I was very sceptical, he found a way to get to me.

I googled his name and found him on facebook, so I believed all was in good order.

He told me his wife had died 10 years ago in an auto accident. His son was 20 yrs old. He was a very successful construction engineer and planned to retire next year. He is 51 years old. Lives in New Jersey.

He then landed a contract in Nigeria, supposedly flew there 3 days ago. We communicated through Yahoo Messenger on a daily basis. He was coming to spend Christmas with me and was bringing his son to meet his new mother and brothers. He knew exactly how to get to my heart, always asked about my sons, even sending them messages as well. I chatted through messenger with his son and everything appeared to be honest and upfront. I was supplied all the photos I needed to see.

What a fool I was! This morning he actually telephoned me to say he couldn't wait to see me in 2 weeks time, then he msn's me to say some of his equipment went missing and he urgently needed the balance of $4,500. This was my red flag! I said No, and he is now off line.

I am horrified that I allowed myself to be deceived by such an evil predator.

Please do whatever you can to help other women who may become his victim. This man is very very believable.

A reader sent us this email to warn others. If any of this sounds familiar to any of you, you are dealing with a Nigerian scammer. Here is the email:
I don't know if any of you have heard from a so-called import/exporter of German auto parts. He calls himself Mike or Michael. He first sends you a questionaire asking for you to answer about all of your likes and dislikes. Then he starts sending email - passionate love letters that he finds on a love letters website. Tonight he messaged me that he is very sad and feeling down. It seems that he spent all of his extra funds paying duty on car parts he exported to Kuala Lumpur. Now he is stuck there, poor dear, and can not pay his hotel or return airfare. And he sooo wants to come and be with me for "the Xmas". He needs only $1539. He would ask his dear mother in Manchester, but she is not well. His Yahoo messenger name is "skyman02911" He will send you a link to his company's website and claims to have an office in Washington DC. He says he lives in Seattle though. At least that's what he says to women who live in Washington State. his email is devotedniceman@gmail.com. I had a little fun with him tonight as he was leading up to asking me for money. I kept changing the subject. Finally when he gave me the dollar figure I said Let me get this straight. You have been sending me love letters that you found on a website (I found them too) and now you are asking me for money. How would you react to that in my situation?" He was so hurt that I would say such things to him! He never did that!! I sent him the the link to the website and told him that all of these other people must be stealing his letters then and passing them off as their own. He told me that he is sad and upset and doesn't need to be having unpleasant exchanges. I told him that I am so very sorry that he is sad and upset and to go to hell. His reply was "K" I hope he isn'y crying too hard into his pillow!

Paul Herbert - Nigerian Scammer on Facebook

This was sent in by another reader who met this "Paul Herbert" (ever notice how they always use two first names for their full name?) on facebook and wanted us to warn our readers about him. Here is the email
I was contacted by Paul Herbert via Facebook. Supposedly a 51-y-o man living in Denton, TX, with an EE degree from N. Texas. He sent me three pictures of an extremely handsome guy: silver hair on sides, red on top, moustache and beard; also one with him on a bike and one with him by a motorcycle. Ex-wife living in Ohio; she cheated on him. Two kids... first he told me girl 5 and boy 15. I asked about the age difference, and he then said he'd been kidding, that really he had a girl, Yvonne 21, and boy, Jeff 18. He wrote like someone whose first language is not English. He sent very romantic emails... but this line " Do you know her?" they asked me in jealous whispers, and as you smiled at me I simply answered with the truth, "Better than I know myself." seemed familiar... so I googled it... and lo and behold, at least half a dozen other people posted the same "dream" their scammer had written to them, verbatim. Same MO. Paul was in London, selling a solar something or other... then flew to Ghana for same job. It didn't get far enough for him to ask me for money, though! Idiots.

Some more info about Paul Herbert: He said his dad was of Irish descent, but he (his dad) was born and raised in Serbia and fought in a war there on Serbia's side. He then married an Irish woman and moved to Dublin, where Paul was born. His mother died during childbirth. His Dad moved the two of them to the US and eventually married a woman named "Karen" here. (That's how he found my account on Facebook...looking for his step-mother with the same first name.) His dad died 7 years ago in a car accident. His dad was his hero. Blah, blah, blah.

I knew it was too good to be true... I couldn't find him online when I did a search. I couldn't find his two kids on Facebook....for their ages, that seemed incredible odd to me. He had only two friends on his FB account, and neither were family. And almost immediately, those two friends were no longer showing up.

I hope now his name shows up on Google searches. I know, though, it'll just be a different name next time.

Well, I always thought that I was an intelligent person, a professional, a person with morals and values and could size a person and see what he or she is all about. WRONG. I became a victim of an elaborate scam. He the scammer goes by the name of David Simon, if that is his real name. Web site Davesimonbkr@yahoo.com. Says he lives in Woodenville, Washington State. widower of 6 years with a daughter who is now 6 years old. Architect/Engineer. Business man travels extensively. Right now leaving Spain to the UK for a project with a Mall in renovation, soon will be flying to New Jersey to meet up with me, because he has found the woman he wants to meet face to face and start a serious relationship and that I appear to be that woman he has been searching for. Only one thing. He lost his wallet and briefcase in a taxi. Now he is stranded in a hotel in London with his daughter and he really hates to ask me to send him $300.00 just to get by. Until he can sorts things out. Only thing is within that week his daughter falls down the stairs in the hotel. Now he panics and states " I need $1800.00 to pay for the blood transfusion and doctors and states" Please, Please help me to save the life of my daughter, I can't lose her she is all I have."Well, eventually I send the money. He sends me his plane flight pass showing that he is coming to the USA so his daughter can receive proper medical care. Well, he says he's short and needs $5,300.00 for the ticket because the ticket he had expired and was unable to get the airline company to accept his old ticket. So, I send him the money, Suddenly, he and this person he befriended Paul Hudson who has been helping him in London are in a car crash, He's in the hospital with a concussion for 4 days. He needs money for the hospital and rehabilitation and the bill is $ 5,300. Well, I did not send it. He than wanted more and more money for the hotel bill. I found out from my sister who recognized his e-mail address on the internet and told me he is looking for females on flirtbox. I called him on it and he said that someone at the hotel was a jealous man who said that he saw me on that site and he had to join to make sure that I wasn't on it, He said " I realized that you were not on the site and that I had to fight him, I almost broke a bottle over his head" So, we made up. He always appeared to be concerned for my well fair, and saying what any woman wants to hear. " This is God's hand on us, He brought us together and I am so grateful for the angel that I want to marry. The one I have been looking for all my life etc..." This story went on for one year.

Then, I started putting the pieces of the puzzle together and felt that some things weren't right. When I would call him on it. he always had an explanation that appeared to be valid. But than taken into the bigger picture they just didn't add up. He asked me in one of our conversations if I was on the site we met. I stated"NO,I have no business on it since I met you." Than I asked if he was on it and he became abrupt and asked " Why would I be on it.? I have no business being on it since I met you my angel baby.

This bothered me. I decided to go on the internet and see if I could find him on different web sites.

I did. He wrote the same e-mail to a Lisa in Sydney Australia and called her his Queen and that he is in the process of purchasing the air plane ticket so that he will be spending Christmas with her and propose to her.

Well, I called him on it and told him hurt I was to find this out and why did he do this to me, to the person he professed his love.

The answers were so disappointing. He said, " It didn't come from the heart, I just need the money to get home and you can help me convince her to send me the money so we can finally be together." Of course I said " I will be no part of your scam." It's over do not call me any more." He kept e-mailing me back with saying " You have to help me I don't want to keep selling drugs, it's getting to risky and if you don't help me I'm going to have to rob and you don't want that." I told him to go away, that he was sick and needed help. " He continued to buzz me saying " You are the one I love only you etc... He became arrogant when I continued to reject him. Saying " I need you to give me the two bank account numbers you opened up so I can wire the money I have in off shore places." I told him. Do not write me anymore, I am going to report you and I am going to see to it that you pay dearly for all your deceptions to me and I am sure there are other women out there just like me and Lisa that you have duped

The game is over, the well is dry and you have been unmasked.

This is my entire story. For all the women and men out there don't be duped like me. Not only did I lose financially because I will never get this money back, but emotionally it broke my heart and I don't think I could trust after this. This man meant everything to me. He violated me like I have never been. He spoke about getting married as he said " In the Cath, in front of the alter, in God's eyes." That he would take care of me, that I deserved to be cared for and loved, because I was such a beautiful woman, that he had been hurt in two other relationships before meeting his late wife. But that while he had a special place in his heart for his late wife, I have gone above and beyond her.

This guy is one sick person.

He goes under different names. He used the names of Paul Hudson, Tony Diggs, Helen Tomas, David Simon I believe that one of the people he on the internet is a Sgt. Major Harry Bennett. and another pet4us.com

So, this was not only a very costly relationship, but a heart breaker.

Be careful, don't send one red cent to any guy for any reason.

It;s a scam in the making.

With due respect , trust and humanity, i appeal to you to exercise a little patience and read through my letter i feel quite safe dealing with you in this important business having gone through your remarkable profile, honestly i am writing this email to you with pains, tears and sorrow from my heart, i will really like to have a good relationship with you and i have a special reason why i decided to contact you. I decided to contact you due to the urgency of my situation. My name is Miss.blessing Kones, 27yrs old female and i am from Kenya in East Africa. Light in complexion, single( never married )but presently i am residing here in Dakar Senegal refugee camp. My father Late Dr Kipkalya Kones was the former Kenyan road Minister. He and Assistant Minister of Home Affairs Lorna Laboso had been on board the Cessna 210, which was headed to Kericho and crashed in a remote area called Kajong'a, in western Kenya. The plane crashed on the Tuesday 10th, June,2008. Here is a letter from our reader sent in to warn others about Patrick Lawrence, a Nigerian Scammer. here is the email:

Patrick claims his undying love for me and how we will be married when he returns to the States. He claims he is in Nigeria building homes on a $10 million contract. He even showed me the contract. He also claims he is from Germany where he was born and raised. He got his degree in B.S. Construction Science in Germany. His father died when he was 17 and his mother died recently so he moved from Germany to Dallas, Texas, where he claims to live at 10141 Daria Place, Dallas, Texas. I researched that address and found out that President George W. Bush lives there! His phone number is 234 812 219 7140. But each time he calls, the phone connection is bad and I am unable to talk to him. His email address is digingforlove23@yahoo.com. He asked me to take down my profile from match dot com because he didn’t want anyone to take me away from him. He claims he took his profile down as soon as he found me because I was the perfect woman for him. His IM’s on Yahoo messenger are full of “loving” words all about how I am the perfect one for him. He tells me his construction job will end in 3 weeks time and that he is going to fly to my place and surprise me and my family. He also IM’d my daughter in Spanish. He says he has his 10 year old son, David, with him in Nigeria and that David has a personal teacher. He shows me pictures of David. He asks me to use my webcam but claims he has to go out and buy one for himself (so I am not able to see him online). Below are excerpts of some of the conversations we have had:

“you gave me hope and i want to make sure we get together and i will be a suprise to you and your family”

“you are like a dream I never thought would ever come true for me. When I hear your voice I start to smile with glee. My eyes shine with glee when I know you are thinking of me”

“Honestly you are so special to me; I pray that we will finally know we are meant to be with one another. I haven't ever talked to anyone so like you before”

His spelling is always bad. I don’t have a photo to share because I was unable to download a good one from Yahoo messenger. But he claims to be 5’8” and about 180 lbs. The photo shows a white man with salt and pepper hair and the man in the photo is very good looking. His user name on match.com was something like “cryingforlove”. He also shows a photo of this man in a “Gruene Hall” t-shirt.

Smith Brain - Nigerian Scammer, Victims Story

Hi there

I read your site and was very impressed as yes I had been scammed too, mine was off a social site his name was Smith Brain which I should have questioned straight off, he was from California but was in Lagos doing business selling oil, we spoke for a while with all the promises of love, happiness and marriage. Yes he then sent me a confirmation booking for a flight to see me, but on the week before he was meant to fly he had a problem with his shipment and needed money to clear it so he could deliver the goods and get his cheque, he had no money as his card was not working in the country, yes I sent him money and the shipment was cleared and delivered, he then mailed me last that he was going to the airport for his flight to me, I did not hear from him for two days and on the morning I was meant to pick him up he desperately was trying to get hold of me as he had been arrested in China for carrying too much money, he then needed money for a lawyer as all his documents and money was seized, after giving him money he told me he was being deported back to Lagos, by then I was starting to wonder about him but he sweet talked his way out as he would get very upset if I called him a scammer, when he got back in Lagos he then needed money for a calling card as he needed to call the Embassy as he was under house arrest, then a week later he had malaria and needed meds, I then started questioning and wanted a passport which he sent me a couple of days later and that is when I saw straight off it was fake, I had learnt my lesson, he still working on other women with the same email address.

Please I do not want my name used in anything, I just want other women to be aware. I have supplied you with his email and the fake passport with the picture he is using, he has two email address he uses.

I just got an email from a Nigerian scammer who says they "found" me profile on a dating site. I have no profiles on any internet dating sites, and they think I am a male, and I am actually a female. Here is the letter and fake photo.

Scott Mackay - Nigerian Scammer Victims Story

This was sent in by a reader who found a previous posting here about Scott McKay and had her own experience with him.
"I had met Scott Mckay on Largefriends and little did I know I would literally pay for meeting him. Scott was writing to me while he was speaking to the lady who posted here also. His story to me was his wife died 5 years ago of cancer and he dated once a couple of years later after her death, but it didn't work out. We talked from the end of April 2011 to early November 2011. Thank you for having the guts to let other women know that this man is a master manipulator. I would otherwise still be getting scammed. Scott stated he was from Bella Coola, Canada, and was an only child. He has a daughter named Kim, so he said, that goes to school in Italy. He sent me some of the same pictures as Anonymous received and pictures of Kim. He claimed to live in San Francisco, but had a condo in the UK because he does a lot of business there. In the beginning of our meeting each other we talked every day for a few weeks. He sent me 18 long stem red roses, candy, and a teddy bear and he called me his "Sapphire" and or "Baby Queen". Later on we talked every other day, then two to three times a week and continued to talk until I found the above posting into early November as stated above. His email address that he used to write to me was Scottmckay1121@yahoo.com. He told me he owned his own company Miga Corps. He is a oil broker and delivers oil to client buyers. He said he was going to fly to the UK from San Francisco and finalize a contract with buyers for Bonnie Light oil. He asked me to help find this oil and to also find sellers who could sell 2 million barrels of it. I did and gave him the information which he said he was very grateful and would make it up to me for the time I put in for searching on the internet. Bonnie Light oil is only found and sold in the Delta State of Nigeria. I then got the story that his credit cards are being rejected and that when he called the company they could not reinstate the credit cards until he came back to the United States. He told me he used all his own money that he had brought with him to purchase the oil and tanker to transport the oil back to the UK and his buyers from Nigeria. He said this cost more then he thought and continued in asking for money. The next thing he stated was that once the tanker was loaded he was told there was taxes on the oil and that the tanker would not be released for transport until the taxes were paid. Again asking for money and he would "slice it back to me" as he states. He said he met a friend there named Bryan Jones and that this friend was kind enough to use his personal bank account in Nigeria to have the money wired for Scott to it and then this friend would give it to Scott. Scott is very convincing in his stories and can explain everything down to the last detail in why he needs money sent to him. I also am ashamed for being so gullible and stupid for listening to his lies. We had talked about making many plans together once he got back to the states. He told me he was so happy and grateful that he found me to be in his life. He promised that he would make everything right in anything I spent on him when back in the states. He said that when he cares for someone he gives a 100% of himself to that person and would do anything for me to make me happy. Once I read the posting here about Scott being a scammer I confronted him and he did his very best to convince me that the posting is not true and if I really cared for him I would not believe it. Well I believed the posting and since then I have not heard from Scott which is no surprise because he got what he wanted from this victim. He may think he is getting away with taking people's money and ruining them financially in this life, but I know that in his next life I will receive my justice for an eternity. It is an expensive life learned lesson and I regret the day I met Scott Mckay."

Scam Victims Story - Gerald Allen

A reader recently sent us their story dealing with a Nigerian scammer going by the name of Gerald Allen:
I live in Spain and was contacted August 2009 by a man who said that he was an American/Canadian following my dating advert in germansingles He told me that he was about 51 years old, divorced with an 11 year old daughter, that he was an freelance geologist after having worked as such for many years for Halleburton. At the time of the initial contact he said that he was in London tendering for a contract in Scotland and Norway. As he didn´t get these contracts he then, so he told me, obtained a contract in Nigeria solving an oil spillage. After about 6 weeks of chatting online via Messenger he became very affectionate and declared his love for me and that he wanted to meet me. After about 2 months of having regular online contact he told me that he had left his briefcase with his passport, all his money, credit cards etc. in a taxi travelling from the site and he then asked me to help him out financially which I did. This was followed by a variety of other sob stories which ended in my sending him more money. He sounded always very convincing and although I did have doubts unfortunately I always gave him the benefit of the doubt. I sent him money to leave Nigeria and he said that he was then in London. I tried to meet him in the U.K. 3 times whilst over there but each time something happened as to why he could not meet me. He continued chatting to me for over one year more via messenger. During that time I did not send him more money although from time to time I received more sob stories. Just recently I asked him to come to Spain and e-mailed a Ryanair boarding pass to him. (I had a copy of his "American passport" which was a fake). Needless to say he did not turn up. He told me that at the Ryanair Visa check desk he had been asked for a malaria vaccination certificate (He said that he contracted malaria whilst in Nigeria) which he said cost Pound Sterling 360.--. I checked this out with Ryanair and received confirmation from them in writing that this was not required. I challenged him on this and he eventually admitted that he was actually a Nigerian/South African with a mixed colour Nigerian father and a white South African mother. He asked my forgiveness and told me that he was ashamed of what he had done to me. All in all he conned me out of Euros 20,000.- which he said that he would repay bit by bit. He said that he had not spent all this money but invested it in shares. He also begged me not to report him to the police. He wanted to turn over a new leaf and make something of himself. He admitted that the initial 2 photos he sent me were somebody else but the subsequent ones were him (the last 2 were not that different from the initial ones but his "American passport" photo was quite different. (I had asked him for a copy of his passport before sending him more money about 1 year ago getting him out of Nigeria by making up a bit of a story).

We received the following email from a reader who recognized a con artist/scammer before it could go any further. She found the photos he was using of himself on an online Italian magazine story. This is what our reader wrote:
He was instant messaging (IM), he asked for my email saying he was having issues with his IM at the dating site (which duh I gave, not sure if he can do anything with it). He kept asking the same question... what did I consider romantic? what did I think of the dating site? "how beautiful I was" messages were mostly questions, asking for my full name, where I lived, what type of work I did, and their stories are always the same: they are single dads, living with a child they adore at home, and they think "I" am so perfect... I started asking him questions about exact location where he lived, his favorite restaurant in the area, and he kept ignoring, and asking the question back at me. Then I made up the name "blue room" said it was my favorite place and asked him if he liked it, he said he loved it, I click disconnect, and therefore did not continue for him to ask for money, but I am pretty sure if I continue the communication game, he will. If that helps get them off the crook biz of taking advantage of women, I'll do it

Miss Desmond contacted me out of nowhere, because I am not on any internet dating site yet that is where she said she found me. Plus, she wrote to me as if I am a male, and I am female. I wrote her one line : "Are you a scammer using the "refugee camp" story?" To which I got this reply. Obviously the scammers don't read why you write. From what I have seen, when you email them and ask questions, they never seem to answer them. When I saved "her" obviously stolen photo, the file name was from an internet site where people submit their photos to have their looks rated. They steal this pictures from anywhere...........

Jose Hernandez -- Yet Another Nigerian Scammer

This story was sent in by a great lady and reader. She sends us all the scammers she encounters. This latest scammer, Jose, talked to her for a long time through email and instant messages. Then came the money request. He needed it to store his heavy machinery. He needed 625 dollars to store them OVERNIGHT. When questioned, he sent her a photo of bulldozers. Not of him in front of the bulldozers, just a random picture of bulldozers. I guess he thought that was going to prove to her that the heavy machinery actually existed. WRONG!!! Here is Jose Hernandez's initial email, and boy is it a long one.........my commentary is in purple.

Good Morning from Lagos.. How are you doing today? It feels so good to hear from you.. I get really busy with work and I hope you'll understand that in future if my response arrives late, LOL.. Thanks for the note and your comments. I want to assume you are aware that Kathy is my only daughter. I would like to ask before writing anything that would make me forget. Opening my mail to find a mail waiting to be read from you, brought a smile to my face. I am so glad you wrote and I must apologize for the inadequate information in my previous notes. Reading from you makes me so confident about telling you more and more about myself, my life, my wants, my past and my hopes. (He could have stopped that sentence after the word "myself") Sorry I didn't send this mail before now. I got your mail last night but I was ready to sleep and couldn't respond right away. I am taking my time to write this letter before starting my day, after reading your profile again. Kindly take the time to read through. First and foremost, how long have you been looking online? Any good experience? I havent been on the site till lately when I contacted you. I have made up my mind to take the time necessary, to write a detailed email to you, that's why I am writing this email NOW, making sure nothing will disturb or distract me.. (Is this really necessary? To go on and on about basically nothing?)

I have realized so many things about life and I am looking for that special woman to share these experiences and all that life has to offer. (He kinda said that already several times)In my previous marriage, one thing I learned is keeping relationship matters within ourselves and not seeking other people's (who doesn't feel what the couple feels) advice. (Read: Don't tell anyone about me, especially when I ask you for money) I also believe in openness and honesty. (He may believe in it, he just doesn't practice it) With secrets, no relationship will last. OK. A little about me, I am José Hernandez - Douglas, 6ft 2", blue/green eyes, dark brown hair.. I am a Civil Engineer (Construction). I turned 46yrs young on the 31st day of January, LOL! (Jan 31st, 1965). Your turn, tell me some basics about you. More about your job, personality, etc.. Just random stuffs about you. ("Stuffs" huh? And here you were trying to sound so educated.)

Also, what do you think about our age differences. I am divorced. My EX who happened to be my daughter's mom re-married after our divorce and was involved in an accident which took her life and that of her husband. It was a shocker on me and my daughter. Even though we are divorced, she WAS once the love of my life and will forever remain the mother of my daughter. (Of course she will remain the mother of your daughter you idiot)I was born in Majorca, Spain on the 31st day of January 1965, (thanks for including the birthdate again, we may have forgotten it since 6 sentences have gone by) moved with my family to Duluth, GA immediately after my birth. I later moved in with my Uncle in Jamaica, NY when I was 7 years old; after the death of both parents. I lost my dad when I was 6 years old; he had a heart attack when he was in a surgery. I lived with my mom in Duluth for another year and later moved to NY when she died. I guess because of the undying love between them, she forgot she has an only son and left me in the world as an orphan. She just didn't stay long after his death before she died.

More about me; (Thanks for letting us know Jose, we thought you were going to start talking about someone else. *idiot*) I am a very kind-hearted man and I have learnt (obviously Jose you have not learned how to spell) that in life, the only things I can count on is my creator, my instincts and my woman. (And you learned you can count on women by the mother and wife you obviously couldn't count on?) I have been hurt a lot and hope that I will find the right woman for me. I am very serious about meeting my significant partner and I am not ready for games at all. I hope to meet this special woman I can show love to and spend the rest of my life with. I adore children and care about my daughter a lot. I attended the University of Glasgow, in Scotland where I had my B.Sc Civil Engineering. I am very laid-down (don't you mean laid back Jose? What did they teach you at that University anyway?) and down-to-earth. I am also very old-fashioned when it comes to my respect and treatment for women. I am a social wine drinker but a non-smoker, have a great sense of humor and like to spend time with people and make them laugh. (wow, how unique, someone who likes to spend time with people and make them laugh) I have always memorized this quote and it has happened to be my favorite quote + I believe in it strongly: A man can love a thousand different women, but it takes a REAL MAN to love a woman a thousand different ways. (Yeah Jose, just change it to: A scammer can write to a thousand different women, but it take a REAL SCUMBAG to scam a woman a thousand different ways)

I have lived in Anchorage, Alaska. I have lived in St. Albans NY. I was living in Houston, TX before I had to leave for work in March '08. I have been in Africa since that time for a Special Project. (And it must be special since Jose felt the need to capitalize it.) The Construction of New Homes and Renovating the Old ones for Orphans and Less Privileged. Its an innovation of UNICEF and the Peace Corps for the West African States and financed by the Nigerian Government. The project covers five (5) different countries in West Africa; Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Ivory Coast and Benin Republic. Funding and appraisal is being taken care of by the Nigerian Government. I should be out of here in less than a month, the project shouldn't take this long but because of some unforeseen circumstances, the whole process has been delayed and its taking longer than anticipated. We are at the last country now, which is Nigeria, and the entire project should be concluded between now and the next two weeks.. (and in two weeks he will send a request for funds)

I am divorced (you said that already Jose) and completely unattached and would be glad if I encounter a woman of high caliber, good attitude, self respect and ambition. (and that will send him money) A woman who knows what she wants and is determined to get it. She has to be understanding and sincere that way a relationship would be smoother. Well, at a point in my last marriage I started suspecting my ex's dishonesty and later caught her in bed with my best friend. (and this is how Jose learned from his experiences he can count on women?)Ever since, I have vowed never to get married again, I did try after our divorce but got burnt (long story). I have been hurt badly and that leaves me with a negative impression about women in general. But my daughter has made me understand that all women are not the same. So, I am all out of my cave now to meet that special woman that is just for me. I do believe in soul-mates. More so, this life is very short and I do want to be happy the little time, I have left to live on this planet earth (as opposed to Mars).. I am afraid of growing old alone when Kathy is all grown and out of the home.. I know for sure, that God has the right woman for me when the time comes.

Kathy happens to be my ONLY daughter now (I thought she was his only daughter the whole time? wtf is he talking about?), I love her so much and I am trying to raise her to be one of the rare breed out there: a humble lady who stands by her words, reliable, reputable, independent, self-confident, knows her worth, loves God, treats people (more especially older people) with respect, focused, disciplined, be playful, be fun, great sense of humor always and be a warrior with a tender heart. As for fun: I like mentally stimulating activities and also I like fun. (He did NOT just write he likes "fun"! Is there someone who doesn't like fun?)I adore adventure-traveling, to feel and research the culture of the countries and learn new things. To just hop in the car someday with my family and drive across the States. I enjoy reading, watching movies, swimming, dancing. I like nature: trees, forest, ocean, mountains, beach, zoo. (Jose felt the need to elaborate on what kind of nature he likes. ugh.) I am passionate about flowers, basically nature! (Enough with the nature already!) I like camping, fishing, cycling, biking, golf, all kinds of sports - like the indoors too, I also like the city life. I take a walk when the weather's mild, but go to the pool with my daughter, or sometimes the beach when it's sunny! (So, to sum it up, Jose likes outdoors and indoors. He likes the country and the city. And let's not forget nature.)

Well, it is said that when a relationship ends and you've tried your best, God knows, it is best to move on, and that there is someone waiting, someone special, until then we have our life to rebuild, to do good unto others, to bring joy, even to those we have left behind. The universe has a funny way of circling and recycling. Its rotating, we can not go back unless it is foreseen. There are no rhymes or reason to love. You either love or you do not. (Jose just cut and pasted a bunch of refrigerator-magnet type quotes and put them all together)I want to fall in love again, I am ready and willing to go into a serious relationship that will lead to marriage. Depending on who I meet and her wants, marriage is a possibility not a MUST. I am looking for someone who is secure, balanced, stable, open and knows what she wants in a partner and in life. I want someone who is not afraid of commitment, someone who can communicate well, both with words, feelings and body languages. Someone who will treat me as an equal and not an object. A good sense of humor, outgoing, likes horses and all other animals too.( And she BETTER like NATURE) A romantic person, someone who is not afraid to cook dinner once in a while! Someone who will walk beside me and not in front of or behind me, someone who loves kids and is able to get dirty one minute and get dressed, to go out the next minute. Diversity, maturity, stability, independence and just all-around, imperfect for the world but perfect for me. (I am so ready to throw up.)

A magic relationship, you know when you are sad, when you feel alone, when the world look out so terrible, when people maim and even kill each other, then you need some place to run away, some place where you can feel safe, there you can feel that nothing, none can touch you, hurt you. (that's what the Police Station is for Jose) Exactly that is a relationship for me. I want a family, a home, full of tenderness, sincerity, faithfulness and above all peace. I want love, of-course lots of love. I consider myself good-looking, I am a nice person as well, at-least the people I have had to deal with on daily basis confirmed that. I am sociable. I am affectionate and romantic, friendly and confident. I am open-minded and cheerful. I am trying to describe myself as much as I can with words (someone elses, the rest made up) so you know what to look forward to if things eventually work out for the two of us..(which they won't) That's my hope and the reason why I am making my fingers dance so much on the keyboard, to the rhythm of my heart!! (ok, at this point, EVERYONE should be vomiting)

I work hard and I want to grow both in my job, personally with my daughter as I have always done and now with the woman that I have been waiting for all my life. I just want to fall in love again and I feel "NOW" is the time, I am done with kids except my partner wants another, either by adoption or who knows? The last time I checked, menopause isn't for men, LOL. (menopause is not a word a male should put in his first email to any woman, ever) I am romantic, humorous, caring, loving and faithful. (You said that already. Like 100 times, in a hundred different ways)I hope to find and meet a lady to fall in love with. (Please, write it ONE MORE TIME so we get it, the first 5 went right over our head)I am clever, intelligent, communicative, honest and ready for commitments but also I would like her to be sweet, faithful, caring, comprehensive, family lover, elegant, cheerful and LOVE KIDS. (Jose also likes looking up synonyms in the dictionary, but what he needs to look up is the definition of REPETATIVE) Its really important because I don't want to put my daughter in any jeopardy or in any sort of danger with whoever I end up sharing my future with, a nice family with strong feelings. I am very responsible, kind, calm, serious (just when it's necessary), confident, purposeful, persistent, smart, honest, modest, loyal, flexible, sociable, sensitive, gentle, cheerful, optimistic, considered responsible and with a great sense of humor. (Step away from the thesaurus and the dictionary Jose, this is an intervention) This all sounds like an advertisement, lol.. but anyway I am a bit.... stubborn - in a good way, of-course! (of course!! You are perfect!)

I would love someone who is fun to be around (most guys like women who are a total drag to be around, but not our Jose!), likes to laugh, funny, enjoys the outdoor, (nature) enjoys going for romantic walks, enjoys looking at the stars at night, and watching the Sunset rise over the ocean. I am looking for someone that enjoys the simple things in life, just like I do. I like to meet someone special that I can grow old with, and that we can always look into each other's eyes in decades and realize that the love between us is just as wonderful, strong and exciting as the day we met. I want to love a woman for who she is, to spoil her, and adore her, and let her know just how much she means to me, by the little things I do or say to make her feel special. While she treats me the same way....with love and respect! I am looking for that special someone that I can spend the rest of my life with, we'll grow old together, loving and caring for each other. Even on our worst days we will still be happy in love and can work through anything that comes our way. We will spend countless romantic days and evenings together, just enjoying every bit of the time we spend together both in person and mere thoughts, when we are not together...(*barf*)

I definitely want to find someone that is stable, serious about a relationship and secure. (He just won't stop, will he?) A woman who knows how to treat her man special. I want to find that person that I can't wait to talk to when not together. Someone I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with, and that feels the same way. I am looking for someone that is down to earth, but can also be spontaneous, someone that likes to travel, likes sports, and loves kids. If you like to dance that is a plus but not someone that is into the club scene. Hope I haven't bored you with this long email. Well, I hope that this lets you know a little about me, and I hope I don't come across as being too cynical, harsh, or resounding. I will give anybody the benefit of the doubt (we're all human, we all make mistakes), but I also don't like being taken advantage of. I'm just asking you to keep it real and be honest from the beginning; that way, nobody is wasting their time or getting their feelings hurt. Letter From a Reader -- Iraq Gold Scam

Hi,   I signed up for  a membership on "Match.com".  Big Mistake!  While on this site,
I  met an American solider by the name of Brian Gair.
He was a major,  and from  Maryland, so he said. He was stationed in Iraq.
When he would email me, his  word choice and sentence usage made me believe that he
was actually from some  country in Europe.  We viewed each other on a webcam.
He told me that he loved me.  Later, he told  me that he and some of his buddies had
found some hidden gold and money.  He  needed my help to get it out of the country.
All I had to do was to contact the  special UN courier that would be delivering
the package to me.    I needed to provide my name, address, etc and a copy of the
front page of my  passport to this man, who was Arabic.  Needless to say, I did not
do this.  I  told Brian that I felt uncomfortable doing this.  I also told him that
I wanted  to date someone closer to home.   This broke my heart.  I really liked him
and I miss chatting with him.  I know I  will never meet anyone with whom I felt so
comfortable with.  But, I could not  trust him.  Did I do the right thing?  I felt

Lonnie Adams / Jimmy Adams - A Scammer here in the USA

Lonnie Adams is not a Nigerian scammer. As a matter of fact, he is right here in the United States.
Lonnie Adams got into trouble a while back with the law in Florida, and rather than go to court, he fled to Mexico. While in Mexico (the Cancun area) he decided to "set up shop". He would put up profiles on dating sites and wait for his victims to come to him. They did, unfortunately. He puts on his profiles that he is looking for a serious relationship, but what he really wants is for you to pay his bills. In Mexico Lonnie Adams did not hold down a job, his victims paid his way. He would start out romantic at first, tell the women to come visit him in Cancun Mexico, and little did they know the place they stayed at (allegedly his) was actually paid for by another woman. He would have one woman paying his rent, another paying for his food, etc. Lonnie Adams would then start his shtick of how he wanted to have a motorcycle business and would give tours to tourists. Did he have the money to start this business? No. That was for some helpless female to pay. He didn't want to work for his own money, he wanted to scam for someone elses. He had numerous women coming and going to Mexico to visit him at the same time. One would leave Mexico and another victim would be on their way to see him. He never told them about each other, and gave them the impression that is was just the two of them. He would ask them for money for his rent, utilities, food, all while going to "meetings" (yeah right) and trying to get financing for his business (yeah right) from investors. He is not the best of con artists, because it seems he cannot behave himself and actually treat someone nice for more that 24 hours. When Lonnie Adams would get money from women, if it was not enough, he actually had the nerve to yell at them for not sending him more. He would tell these women they should quit their jobs, sell their houses, and move to Mexico to live with him. He wanted their money, not them, and had no intention of living with them. Can you imagine how evil you have to be to tell someone to quit their job and sell their home to move to another country with you knowing full well you have no intention of going through with it? Well, meet evil personified. Lonnie would actually tell numerous women to do this at the same time! Cancun, Mexico was like a safe haven for this guy. He figured there was no way these women could do anything after they were scammed, because he was safe in Mexico and they could not convict him of any crime. Well, Lonnie Adams forgot about one thing. When he fled from Florida to Mexico to avoid trial, he used someone elses passport. He was using the name Jimmy Adams. The US Marshalls came and got him and brought him back to Florida in shackles. He went to prison for a few years, but is now out. Since his probation is over, it seems Lonnie / Jimmy Adams is back at it again, trolling the internet dating sites. Now he is telling women he was a businessman who is so rich he does not need to work. He is in Chicago, Illinois, and now is telling women on the dating sites he only came there from Mexico to take care of his sick mother. (He doesn't mention the US Marshalls or being incarcerated lol) One would think he is finding it more difficult to do this here in the US because he can be found and he can get into trouble much easier than when he was in Mexico. Also, it was one thing to not have a drivers license in Mexico or a car.......but when you are over 45 and living in Chicago? Most women would wonder why such a "rich" man doesn't have a vehicle or drivers license. That, plus living with his mother = loser in most women's eyes. If he was so well off why isn't his mother living with him in his house? Why doesn't she have a full time nurse? Since Lonnie Adams can no longer use the bike business idea of getting women to invest, his latest shtick revolves around stem cells. His "idea" is to go after pro athletes and organize a surgery for them, their flight, and hotel rooms. Like pro athletes don't have a staff to do this? These rich athletes couldn't put that together with their own doctor? Of course they can. And pro athletes would do a background check before they handed over money to some stranger, and they would find out he has a criminal record. If you happen to come in contact with a guy named Jimmy or Lonnie Adams on a dating website (or anywhere) run for the hills. He will send you pictures of his bodybuilding glory days, spin his lies about how wealthy he is, his business ideas, and his time in Mexico, his clothing businesses etc. If you think you have come in contact with him we would love to hear from you. Lonnie Adams likes to quote the bible and refrigerator magnet-type sayings to sound spiritual. This guy does not even possess a conscience and obviously has no fear of karma.
He likes to talk about his glory days of bodybuilding, fitness, and put down as his occupation recently : health. (Obviously not mental health)The pictures are not photoshopped, he really is that short and has really short legs. Since he does not hold down a full time job (God forbid) Lonnie Adams tends to use free internet dating sites like plentyoffish.com (he is on there at the time of this posting)
His email addresses tend to have his name in it and usually a reference to Mexico, sports, etc. For example: cancunjimmy@yahoo.com and laincancun@yahoo.com

Nice photos probably not even him. This photo is a match.com scammer yes from Lagos Nigeria his name is Mike Wurfel. He was so gracious and wonderful emailing back and forth then wanted to go to Yahoo IM. I had been warned of scammers but not to the depth of the Nigerian connection. I had heard a story of a match and one of the people had gone out of the country to work then asked for money from this other person. So, at least I knew this much. Was I gullible or what. So as we started to IM every evening things were picking and he was smooth. He was returning home this Saturday and we were to meet. I started getting suspicious over this past weekend. He said he lived in the Virginia Highlands area in Atlanta Georgia and he has sent me a picture of him playing the piano. Behind him out the window were tropical flowers so I asked where the picture was taken. He said his apartment in Atlanta, first read flag. Then I went back to past emails he said he was a widower, one email said 3 years ago and another said 5 years ago, second flag. Oh yes, as soon as he thought he had me he ended his match subscription. That should have been the first flag, then he let me know he was out of the country working did I mind at that time no people travel all the time.

He sent me his flight schedule and wanted me to pick him up I said yes, but when I got to work yesterday I was really becoming very nervous, my radar was heightened something was not right. Late yesterday Mike got on IM I had not been on and turn it on going home on my phone. I asked how his day was and he said I am Ok Bad day. He asked about my day I said busy. Then he said he was worried I asked why he said because I did not ask him what happened. Truthfully we all have bad days and he is not my husband. I told him I took offense to the question it really set off my radar. So I asked what happened. He had lost his wallet with $2,500.00 in case and credit card. I asked any family to help he said no. What about your best friend he said he was also out of the country and could not reach him. My radar shot through the roof of my car, here we go I can play this game too.

I waited in between IM’s to keep him guessing. Then I told him I was sorry wish there was something I could do. He said he wished I could do something also, he had tried to get a loan but no and he had not eaten since breakfast okay now I am truly saying to myself you have to be kidding. So I Hung the bait. Are you asking me for money? He replied, yes, I would really appreciate it. Well, then I preceded to blast an IM telling the story of the person I knew and her scam and that he would never see my face, nor talk to me again and most of all not get a dime. He instantly replied that is not who I am it is just me and you. I signed out. Later that evening I signed into yahoo to delete him and thank goodness he was not on, when I opened the IM there was one from him. Are you there? Did you sign out on me? You bet buddy. Oh yes tidbit, in this day and age he did not have his cell phone with him he left it at home, I found that out when he called me on Monday he called from a payphone. Are you kidding me.

Well, then I get online and search and find all of this about all these Nigerian match scams. How stupid was I?

I have blocked him from match.com mikewfl59 and yahoo.com mikwfl59, he has my phone number so that will be changed also.

I had not heard from Gerald for 5 days now and decided to look him up on the internet as a scammer and saw your article on him.

He has scammed me too from Christian Mingle.com alias “divineloving” from mid-July up until this past Friday, Sept 30th. He has 15K of my money sent through Western Union (I still have the receipts and MTCN #s) to assist him buy fiber optic cables for a iZZinet company in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which they had paid him some 520K for the job in the USA but he had to pay income tax before leaving Malaysia and he was held by customs before coming back to USA (copy of ticket included, payment services check and Ministry of finance letter/bill attached). I also saw Giovanni Daniels during an IM conversation on Yahoo.com. He had phone numbers for a Nigerian cell phone saying the company gave the phone to him because it would be cheaper to make phone calls from it (I did not suspect because iZZinet has a company in Africa but my phone company had called to warn me about money scams with Nigerian phone numbers as that one he had, I even told him about it….he managed to “drop them off the roof of iZZinet when he was adjusting their satellite dishes”—how convenient!). That’s the story in a nutshell….I have all of his emails and IM from him as well.

I would like to get the FBI and Western Union after him too and would like assistance on how to do that—I would think he should be charged with Grand Theft and Extortion at the very least!

I was contacted by someone calling himself Paul Jenkins on Guardian Soulmates.

He uses this email id: pauljenkins80@yahoo.com.

I'm attaching pictures of him.

He didn't ask me for money, but then I didn't give him the chance.

His story is that he's a widower, an independent oil-rig contractor working with Shell. He said he's based in the UK, at the moment in London/Manchester, and was on an oil-rig in the North Sea. Said his wife was killed in a road accident and that he's got a daughter.

First he said his wife was killed a few months after his 14 year old daughter was born. Then he said his wife died 5 years ago. he said his daughter was living with her grandma in Texas, then last week he said she was studying in Scotland.

He said he was trying to win a contract that would bring him to the UAE (where I live) for two years. first he said he'd got the contract. Then he said he hadn't. He said his daughter wanted to talk to me, and put her on the phone. I can swear it was him, trying to put on a little-girl voice. His daughter by now was 12, going on thirteen, and was off to do a two month dance course at the University of Aberdeen.

Please do let me know if you've got him registered anywhere else!

I met my scam artist on BlackPlanet.com a dating service online. Actually he found me, just 3mths ago. He sent me a lovely message, than I replied we exchanged email address and messenger details. Where we had been chatting and building a relationship, well that is what he led me to believe, we even exchanged phone numbers. We rang each other many times and he would leave messages on my voice mail how he really missed me and I was everything to him and meant the world to him and soon we would be together.

He said he lives in Jacksonville , Florida and was traveling to London for work. He was trying to sell a self funded project to the government over there. After a short period of time he told me that all his funds had been used up due to registering for licenses and permits etc and he needs funds to able to finish the deal and receive a large sum of money. I fell for his manipulation and he continued to carry on with stories of the project and I continued to send money to help him. Finally he told me he had received the cheque and was ready to travel to Australia and how we where going to be together and he was going to cash his cheque here and reimburse me all the money he took from me. However of course he needed money for the airfare, he sent me flight details etc and was having a stop over in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia once he reached there he started ringing me again saying he needed money to get through customs, for 2 weeks this continued as he was robbed and needed more money and than had to use that money for renewing his ticket to Australia it just went on and on. He kept promising me we would be together any day now. If I ever questioned him on anything he would say that he was hurt that I would think that, and he would says things like his word was his bond, he even swore on his mother's grave that he was telling me the truth and he would return my money and we would be blissfully happy together. He managed to scam over $6000 from me. I am a single mum with 3 children, I work 2 jobs and just wanted to find love and my life partner. Now I just have to find a third job to recover from all this mess. He has profiles on a lot of sites Netlog, my space, HI5, twoo and these are only the ones I know of.
He is very convincing and doesn't care how his deceit affects your life and what financial mess he leaves you in.

This is my nightmare story. I met what seemed to be a wonderful young man on christianmingle.com. It started out simple, a few e mails through that site, then started e mailing me personally. Then eventually chatted on line, regularly. His story was so real sounding, that he lived about 45 min from me and owned his own company. He had a website for his company, showed that he was the CEO. Everything seemed believable, we chatted a lot on line, talked about church, our kids and every day life. He called me on the phone (of course I did not write the number down) and spoke to me. June 10th, he was taking a trip to London for his company, was to be gone for 3 weeks. After there, we continued to e mail and chat regularly. He was very polite and sweet sounding. He sent lovely e mails that any girl or woman would love to read. He called me his sapphire. Then it wasn't long until he started calling me babe and other sweet names. Then I love yous started coming. I first told him how can you say that you love me when you have not met me. He said he had been praying for a special person in his life and that he knew I was the one. I fell for every bit of it, all because it started from christianmingle.com. It ended after me losing lots of money, I am ashamed to say how much. I just can not believe that I fell for it, after all of the stories I have heard from shows on tv about this.

He claimed to be from IL and that he had a daughter (Kimberly) in college in Italy. He had a sister (Nelly) who lived in Italy as well, who was married and had 3 boys. His name was Scott McKay and was to be born in Merret, Georgia. His e mail address was scott2mckay@yahoo.com, work address was mscott@migacorps.net His daughter's e mail address mckimkay@yahoo.com His sister's e mail nellykay96@hotmail.com They probably all went to the same person. The final straw was that he collasped and had to have emergency surgery and the hospital in London was demanding payment for the surgery. I told his friend who was Nigerian (according to Scott) that I knew that medical care was free in the United Kingdom. His answer was yes for a public hospital, this is a private hospital. I contacted the US Embasy in London and the lady said there is no hospital by that name and the phone number that I was given was a cell number. He did not get any more money, but I am sure he working on the next victim now.

He is probably Nigerian that did not sound Nigerian on the phone, had more of a spanish-european accent. There was a family that used to go to our church that was from Nigeria. His accent was nothing like theirs. I since have had a phone call where they I was threatened to be put on a black list. He pronounced my last name correctly and had the last 4 numbers of my social security number. I will live past this, but it will be very hard and difficult for a long time, because I sent money to him instead of paying my regular bills. I also took out 2 loans for that idiot, believing that he was buying plane tickets and could not be renewed when he tried to use them. He e mailed me copies of the boarding passes and pictures of him doing different things, one at a beach with scuba equipment and one in a church playing the saxaphone. He was a very nice looking man, making it even easier to believe what he was saying to me. I have saved all of the emails and pictures although it probably will be useless to do, but perhaps it will save someone else from their scam.

Ladies beware a very handsome man named Bill Arthur, working in Nigeria purchasing textiles, gold, fabric, antiques to bring back and open his antique store in Boston., claims to be from Boston. He says he's a widower for 5 years now. He moved to Boston from California one year ago to start a new life and leave his sad memories behind. He claims to have been born in Austria to an Austrian Dad and a mom from the Bahama Islands. But, sadly, he's an only child and his parents died together in an auto accident 8 years ago...

He slipped up and sent me an email that I had received a few days ago from another man on Match.com. I recognized it immediately and called them both on it. I reported both user names Pete000000NEW to Match.com and Bubblesmileyman9. They both sent me different pictures. One man had a child, one did not. One was a widower, one was divorced. One was from Boston, one was from NJ. But, I got an identical email from Bubblesmileyman9. He will immediately ask you off of the website IM and uses affectionatebill1957@yahoo.com for email and chatting. Luckily I caught on before things went too far but he had me hooked a bit with his lovely lines and romantic talk. He will call you baby, hun, sweetie a lot and very early one, I mean within the first or second email.

My advice, as the dating sites warn, don't give out any secondary email or IM addresses until you have spent weeks and weeks getting to know someone or you have met them in a public place to verify who they are.

The old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.....Go with that, it is very accurate.

Mostly, follow your gut and instinct. if it goes too quickly and sounds too tragic, get out!!

Then we got disconnected and he called back under restricted.......hmmmmmm.

Well Harry was done with job and flying back to London to get things ready to move him and mom to the states. The next day I received an email from Dr Ifeanyi from Nigerian Specialist Hospital, saying Harry was in an auto accident on the way to the airport, The Dr. said he found my info in Harry's diary stating I was his wife. He said Harry had a concussion but promised he would be fine. But I needed to send $700 so that they could help him. Again..NO. With a 2nd demand the next day. Then Elizabeth emailed me, "what are we gonna do about the money?" I told her that Dr had to do all he could to help Harry. And as far as I was concerned Africa was a waste of space on this earth.
